MINDSET!

Mindsets is a concept that is fairly recent to the field of psychology. Introduced by Carol Dweck, her work with mindsets began in the last decade (2009;2010). Her work sought to demonstrate how different attributions of goals, effort, success, feedback and many other aspects of performance are appraised by individuals. With this she developed fixed, mixed and growth mindsets. This demonstrates the orthogonality of the construct, but various components of fixed and growth mindsets are elaborated upon below.

It was one of those nights where I felt like the world was just dragging me along. I’d just finished a brutal 12-hour shift at the warehouse, my back aching, my feet screaming, and my brain fried from scanning barcodes all day.
